Before you book.
Does PMU work on my skin tone?
Yes — and it's one of Keke's specialisms. She has spent six years perfecting techniques for women of colour and will assess your skin tone, undertone and skin type before anything begins. The results are built around you, not adapted for you.
Does microblading work on dark skin?
Often not well. Microblading cuts fine hair strokes into the skin, and on deeper and oilier skin those strokes tend to blur and fade unevenly. That's why Keke trained in it and chose not to offer it. She does ombré and combination brows instead, worked with a machine so they hold. Read more
I've threaded for years and my brow tails won't grow back. Can you help?
Yes. Years of threading can wear out the follicles, and the tails usually go first. It isn't something you did wrong. Semi-permanent brows fill the gaps with soft colour, and you can keep your threading. If your brows have thinned suddenly or in patches, please see your GP first. Read more
Does it hurt?
A topical numbing cream is applied before and during treatment to keep you comfortable. Most clients describe the sensation as mild scratching at most. Keke checks in throughout to make sure you're at ease.
How long does a treatment take?
Brow appointments are typically 2–3 hours from start to finish. This includes your consultation, brow mapping, the treatment itself and aftercare guidance. Never rushed — always thorough.
How long do Ombré and Combination Brows last?
Ombré and combination brows usually last 1–3 years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle and aftercare. Oily skin can fade faster. Once you've had your first brow appointment and your top-up, most clients come back for a brow colour boost every 12–18 months to keep them fresh.
Is the top-up included with Ombré and Combination Brows?
No, and not everyone needs one. If you do, your brow top-up is booked at 6–8 weeks, once your skin has healed. This is where we refine the shape and colour. Top-ups are £40 for both Ombré Powder Brows and Combination Brows. WhatsApp aftercare support is included throughout.
Can I book if I've had PMU elsewhere?
Possibly — it depends on the existing work. Please send a clear photo of your brows to admin@kekekosmetics.co.uk or DM @keke.kosmetics before booking so Keke can assess whether the treatment is suitable. Some previous work may need to fade further before we can proceed.
Do you offer payment plans?
Klarna is available on Keke's treatments over £50, so you can spread the cost. For Academy courses, £299 secures your date and you can spread the rest over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months with Pay It Monthly, subject to approval.
What should I do to prepare for my appointment?
Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment, avoid blood-thinning medications where possible (always consult your GP first), and come with clean skin — no makeup on the brow area. Full aftercare kit and guidance is given to you after your appointment.
